We’re incredibly proud to have won the Port Development Award at the British Ports Association Annual Conference 2026!
The award recognises our new Marine facility at Cargo Fleet Wharf, a multi-million-pound investment designed to strengthen our role as Statutory Harbour Authority for the River Tees and provide a modern home for our Marine and Marine Engineering teams.
What makes this achievement particularly special is the people behind it.

Designed and delivered largely in-house by our own engineering teams, the project brought together expertise from across PD Ports, Civil, facilities and marine engineering colleagues led the project from concept and design through to construction and fit-out, drawing on expertise from across the business.

The result is much more than a new building. Cargo Fleet Wharf brings Marine operations and Marine Engineering together in one location, provides dedicated facilities for maintaining our specialist vessels, enhances emergency response capability and creates an environment where our people can collaborate, develop their skills and help shape the future of the River Tees.

A huge congratulations to everyone who played a part in bringing this project to life. This award is fantastic recognition of your expertise, collaboration and commitment.
Built by our people, for our people and for the future of the River Tees.
