A vacancy has arisen for a self-motivated, well organised, reliable and punctual individual with a keen eye for detail as a Jetty Operator, full time at PD Ports within the PD Shipping & Inspection Services team.
Location: Primarily based in Erith, Kent with the flexibility of covering across to our other site in Purfleet, Essex.
Working Arrangements: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This is a 24/7 operation with night work incorporated within shifts. The role also involves regular weekend work for which extra payments are made.
The five main things our Jetty Operator will be working on are:
- Working in accordance with written procedures to ensure the quality and quantity of the client’s vegetable oils and rapeseed products.
- Conducting basic quality tests of cargo, recording working times and completing computer-based reporting systems.
- Inspection of all loading/discharging compartments for suitability.
- Communicating with all parties concerned including ship’s crew, jetty operators and office.
- Taking reference samples from all cargo handled.
We are seeking someone who:
- Holds a full driving licence.
- Is self-motivated.
- Is well organised, punctual and reliable.
- Enthusiastic with a flexible approach.
- Possesses strong attention to detail.
Benefits:
Starting salary is £28,000.00 – £30,000.00, plus additional payments for weekend work.
