For any progressive and innovative business, apprentices are vital building blocks and important elements of future growth. At PD Ports, we see apprentices as the lifeblood of our business, ensuring we continue to build a sustainable and resilient future for ourselves and our customers.

A massive 52% of our engineering team started their career with PD Ports as an apprentice, bringing fresh new ideas that encourage positive change and drive growth. This high percentage demonstrates our long-term and ongoing commitment to providing high quality career opportunities for young people in our region.

As well as maintaining a significant number of engineering apprentices, we have been building and expanding our apprenticeship schemes across a variety of vocations throughout the business.

We currently employ close to 80 talented individuals who have trained as an apprentice or are currently in training, and we look forward to welcoming further apprentices to support our future growth strategy.

For our electrical, mechanical, joinery and boilersmith trades, we appoint apprentices from NETA Training, usually around July and August each year. Candidates interested in an apprenticeship in these areas should contact NETA direct:
