An opportunity has arisen for Steel Operatives to join the team based at our Groveport site, Gunness, Scunthorpe. Groveport covers 190 acres and is an inland port complex on the River Trent boasting nine berths with sea access via the Humber Estuary. Groveport can provide a number of port services including chartering, ships agency, stevedoring, warehousing and logistics.
The primary function of the Steel Operative is to load steel products onto vehicles destined for our customers by operating the associated plant and equipment within a busy port operation. Other tasks would be to offloads ship to shore vehicles and material arriving ex road, tallying products from the vessel and continuous stock taking.
Experience working within a steel operation and holding the relevant licences for operating 16 ton forklift trucks and overhead cranes would be beneficial, however this training can be provided to the successful candidate if necessary.
We currently have three positions available, working on both the day & night shifts.
