PD Teesport is one of the UK’s largest ports and a key player in both the local community and the economic growth of the region. The Company offers customers an integrated logistics package including port handling facilities, warehousing, forwarding and distribution.

We are seeking to recruit an electrician within the docks engineering department at Teesport, the primary function of which is to undertake servicing and repair work on all electrical supplies and associated equipment within the Docks Division.

You will be required to respond to breakdowns and failures using problem solving techniques to return equipment back into service with minimum delay. The ideal candidate will have experience in the maintenance of, Harbour mobile cranes, mobile plant and equipment used in a busy dock operation. Additionally knowledge of PLC controlled AC and DC drives, Electrical Systems Regulations would be an advantage, however full training will be offered to the right candidates.

The ideal candidate will be professionally qualified and have relevant experience having completed a recognised formal apprenticeship preferably within a heavy engineering environment. The work entails working outside in all weathers and the ability to work at heights.

You will be required to work within the 162.5 hours per month contract and be fully committed to working to health and safety best practice.
