A vacancy has arisen for a Harbour Police Coordinator, based at Tees Dock, Middlesbrough.

The Harbour Police Coordinator will report to the Head of Security and Policing. They will be responsible for the duty planning, appraisal, training, productivity and performance management of the Harbour Police function with particular emphasis on ensuring that staff are effectively motivated, briefed and deployed to consistently achieve organisational goals, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Prevention, investigation and detection of crime
  • Timely and appropriate response to incidents
  • Engaging with customers and stakeholders within the port community
  • The safety of all people using the port estate
  • Problem solving
  • Safeguarding of the organisation’s assets and personnel
  • Provision of accurate and timely advice and guidance to the company on all police matters
  • Compliance with national legislation

Continual personal development of standards, discipline and training in the police code of ethics and company core valuesWorking in an expanding department the ideal candidate will have the following essential criteria:

  • Served as a Police Inspector for a minimum of 5 years within a Home Office force (within the last 5 years)
  • Experience of delivering training within a policing environment
  • A minimum of 5 years within a roads policing function
  • Practical experience of collaboration and partnerships

The successful candidate will be required to be security cleared and will require a full driving licence.
