We’re delighted that seven members of our team have been shortlisted for the Multimodal 30 Under 30 list. The prestigious list features young people in the industry who are paving the way for the future and were nominated for their outstanding work and passion for the logistics sector.

To celebrate this fantastic achievement, we caught up with each of our nominees to find out more about them and their role within PD Ports…

Our next nominee, Jacob Moat, is another who was introduced to our business through the Tees Valley Logistics Academy. Initially planning to study a business management degree after his A Levels. Jacob gained hands-on experience of the logistics sector during a work placement with us, and a new passion was born.

After his enthusiasm and passion impressed the team during this placement, Jacob was offered the opportunity to complete a degree apprenticeship to help him pursue his new career path of a Chartered Surveyor.

His motivation and positivity radiated throughout the whole team, and his strong advocacy for apprenticeships has led to Jacob attending careers fairs on behalf of the company, where he shares his own story and educates young people on the opportunities available.

Discussing his nomination in the 30 Under 30 list, Jacob said: “As PD Ports plays such an important part in the local infrastructure, I feel proud to be a part of this function and I feel supported by my colleagues who are committed to my development. My favourite part about working here is the sense of teamwork and the diversity of the different tasks I get involved with.

“Being nominated for 30 under 30 makes me feel a sense of achievement and that my work isn’t going unnoticed. It has given me greater confidence in my development as a professional within the logistics sector and I fully appreciate being nominated for this accolade.”
