An exciting new role has arisen within the Learning and Development team for a Lead Transport Instructor. The team has been in place for 2 years which is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to shape the Driver curriculum and L&D strategy. The Transport Instructor will be responsible for delivering LGV training including, driver CPC, E-learning, EU tachograph compliance, safe and fuel-efficient driving, vehicle and trailer familiarisation, and load security.

 

Location: North East with UK wide travel (Flexible Hybrid Working)

Working Arrangements: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Saturday (Flexible Hours)

 

The main duties our Lead Transport Instructor will be working on are:

  • Line management responsibilities for the current instructor.
  • Support the implementation of a group wide Learning & Development strategy by providing the skills needed to develop and deploy to our current and future workforce.
  • Develop ways of working that builds relationships with our stake holders.
  • Deliver transport training to ensure individuals and teams have the capabilities they need to undertake our operations safely and competently.
  • Work in collaboration with other experts (internal and external) to continually improve our Transport curriculum.
  • Provide a supportive and engaging learning environment.

 

We are seeking someone who:

  • Holds a class 1 driving license and RTITB Driver Assessor CPC certificate with up-to-date knowledge of driving hour regulations.
  • Has experience of delivering training using a variety of methods.
  • Has the ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Has good communication skills, both written and oral at a technical level.
  • Is confident, clear, and engaging when presenting to groups.
