A vacancy has arisen for a full time Hydraulic Technician at PD Ports within the Marine Engineering team. The role will involve carrying out planned maintenance across port equipment and support with breakdowns/repairs.
Location: Vulcan Street, Middlesbrough, TS2 1LX
Working Arrangements: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The five main things our Hydraulic Technician will be working on are:
- Conducting routine inspections, servicing and repairs of hydraulic systems on port marine equipment including RORO linkspans, hydraulic pumps, winches, cranes and auxiliary deck systems.
- Diagnosing faults in hydraulic circuits and rectifying using appropriate tools and test equipment and interpreting and working from hydraulic schematics, technical manuals, and service records.
- Supporting emergency response to breakdowns, often in marine or exposed environments, ensuring minimal operational disruption whilst liaising with OEMs and Engineering teams on system upgrades, retrofits or component replacement.
- Maintaining accurate service records, fault logs, and spares tracking using the companies ERP System whist ensuring all activities comply with relevant safety legislation, lifting operations, permit-to-work systems, and the company’s engineering standards.
- Manufacturing of hoses and pipework to replace on port equipment and overhauling of accumulators, valves and cylinders.
