PD Ports are recruiting for General Steel Operatives in the Scunthorpe area. Previous experience in steel essential for the role. We are looking for enthusiastic, hard-working individuals to operate various plant equipment to pick steel to order, load and unload trailers.
Working Arrangements: Various – Days, Nights, 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm shift rotation
The five main things our Steel Operatives will be working on are:
- Supporting all areas of the warehouse to meet multiple customer orders and deadlines
- Use of onsite plant and equipment including overhead cranes
- Goods out: order picking, ensuring attention to detail, collating and planning customer orders as per the pre-determined load list and loading the lorry accordingly
- Keeping the warehouse and yard areas clean and tidy
- Adhering to essential safety standards and site best practice
We are seeking someone who:
- Steel industry experience essential
- Forklift and overhead crane desirable
- Quality focused
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge or use of warehouse management systems/scanners
