An opportunity has arisen for a Site Operative to join the team based at our Groveport site, Gunness, Scunthorpe. Groveport covers 190 acres and is an inland port complex on the River Trent boasting nine berths with sea access via the Humber Estuary. Groveport can provide a number of port services including chartering, ships agency, stevedoring, warehousing and logistics.
The role of Site Operative will essentially be stevedoring operations, which will include all areas of import and export activities. This will include manual handling, operating plant and equipment i.e. forklift truck, skid steer Bobcat, loading shovel and site shunt vehicles. The successful candidate will be expected to work to the highest standards of Health and Safety.
Previous experience is welcomed but not necessary as full training will be given to the successful candidates.
The hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week worked flexibly over a seven day period dependent upon operational requirements. Additional overtime may be required to meet the needs of the business.
