Group Financial Accountant
(Based Teesside)
The Company
PD Ports is a leading UK ports business offering end to end supply chain solutions, employing over 1200 people in the UK. With headquarters based in the North East of England, PD Ports operates at many key UK ports and logistics centres.
The position will be based at the Group head office in Middlesbrough, with occasional travel to other business units.
The Role
Working within an experienced finance team, the primary responsibilities of the role will be to:
• Prepare consolidated monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and forecasting requirements, both internal and external
• Prepare annual statutory financial statements for all companies within the Group, under IFRS and UK GAAP, including iXBRL requirements;
• Provide solutions to accounting issues;
• Supervise the accounting for a number of Group management overhead companies, across all of the financial cycle;
• Assist with the group corporation tax process, including data preparation for computations, review of consequent outputs and liaison with Group’s external tax advisers;
• Participate in Group’s SOX compliance process, including review and testing of processes
• Assist with or manage additional ad hoc assignments
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant, preferably with first time passes, hold a clear understanding of current accounting/technical issues including FRS102 and IFRS with a sound “hands on” accounting background and experience of dealing with auditors.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is able to work unsupervised, with strong IT skills. They will have the ability to liaise confidently with all levels of management, both operational and financial as well as acting as a point of contact with key stakeholders and advisors. Experience of group consolidations would be advantageous, although not essential.
