We are currently seeking a General Operative in Immingham, and the role comes with a favourable salary and benefits package. There may be a requirement to work in various locations within the PD Ports group, providing cover as required in line with business needs.
The General Operative will report to the Contract Manager and work in a team at the warehouse, using plant equipment (e.g. FLTs, loading shovel and reach stacker).
The work in a typical week will vary between warehousing/devanning containers and handling bulk materials outside. The environment is dynamic and offers a constant challenge, so you must be able to thrive in such an environment, adopting a safety-first philosophy, complying with safe systems of work, risk assessments and company policies and procedures.
The Candidate
To apply, you must be highly motivated and committed to a Safety First philosophy and able to comply with safe systems of work. Experience in slinging, rigging, mobile plant operations is desirable, but not essential, as the company will provide full training through our nationally accredited programmes. In addition, you must possess a high standard of numeracy, literacy, IT skills and the ability to work under your initiative or to precise instructions.
