PD Ports recognises the importance of its role within the environment in which it operates. The Company is fully committed to developing and maintaining sustainable codes of practice to minimise any adverse impact on the surrounding environment.
PD Ports has a committed team of ‘Environmental Champions’ at each of our operating locations responsible for ensuring we continue to adhere to environmental legislation and strive to further improve our environmental performance.
In 2012, PD Ports introduced its own Environmental Management System and subsequently, through the success of the system, achieved International Environmental Management Standard ISO 14001, one of the first UK ports businesses to achieve this exacting qualification. We are justifiably proud of this achievement.
Green issues are high on the agenda throughout the logistics and ports industries and gathering pace in supply chain management. Our green agenda encourages everyone affiliated with PD Ports to consider the impact of their actions on the environment. The main objective is to co-ordinate all activities within the supply chain in such a way that beneficiary needs are met at minimum cost to the environment.
