PD Ports has sponsored the latest development in the sensory garden at Daisy Chain North east headquarters in Stockton, which was officially opened by Stockton Council Leader Bob Cook.

Attending a brief ceremony to mark the official opening of the new reflection area, Councillor Cook, said: “I am delighted to officially open the new reflection area here at Daisy Chain. It has been developed to provide a safe, welcoming and quiet space for families to take a break and enjoy watching their children in the play area.”

The main part of the play area cost more than £140,000 to develop and, since it opened last November, has already proved popular with the families who use Daisy Chain services.

The reflection area has been made possible due to sponsorship from PD Ports.

Daisy Chain Chief Executive, Stuart Dexter, said: “We are delighted that Councillor Cook could come along today and we are so grateful to PD Ports for sponsoring the reflection area and volunteering their time and resource to get the area ready for our families.”

Kirsten Donkin, PR and Communications Manager at PD Ports said: “The service that Daisy Chain provides to local families is immeasurable. Having the opportunity to get involved in this project and provide a rest bite area for parents, as they watch their children play in a safe and enjoyable environment is incredibly humbling.

“We consider responsible social engagement with our local community as vitally important to the long-term success of our business at PD Ports and we are very proud to see our partnership with Daisy Chain delivering real value for the people at heart of that community.”
